Description

Meteor Shard is the common red crafting material from a Meteor event. Meteor Shards are spent at the assembled Meteor Anvil on trim kits and Obsidiron equipment, so they should be counted against the intended recipe before leaving the crash area. They are easier to collect than Gold Shards, but every listed Meteor Anvil recipe currently consumes ten Meteor Shards.

Obtaining Methods4 methods

Method 1

EventMeteor Crater

• When the night message says the sky is on fire, search the spawned crash sites around the early Campfire region.

Method 2

GatheringRed Meteor Chunk

• Break the red chunk with an Axe to collect 3 Meteor Shards plus 1 Gold Shard.

Method 3

DropMeteor Crab

• Crabs at Meteor Craters and the damaged Meteor Tool Workshop can drop 0-2 Meteor Shards.

Method 4

GatheringObsidiron Crystals

• Later meteor-workshop progression may provide another shard-bearing crystal route.

Usage Tips4 tips

Tip 1

Choose the recipe first: gathering fewer than ten Meteor Shards leaves every current Meteor Anvil recipe unfinished.

Tip 2

Break red chunks before leaving a safe crater, then clear Meteor Crabs for the chance to fill the remaining gap.

Tip 3

Do not spend Gold Shards separately until the Meteor Shard total also satisfies the selected recipe; the two materials gate different crafts together.

Tip 4

Bring an Axe and inventory space when the event message appears. Arriving without either can waste the limited crash-site opportunity.
