Description

Gold Shard is the rarer gold crafting material from Meteor-event routes. Gold Shards pair with ten Meteor Shards for both trim kits and the Obsidiron Chest Blueprint, so their practical value comes from completing a specific Meteor Anvil recipe. They should not be treated as lobby currency or generic scrap.

Method 1

GatheringRed Meteor Chunk

• Break the red chunk at a Meteor Crater with an Axe to collect 1 Gold Shard with 3 Meteor Shards.

Method 2

DropMeteor Crab

• Meteor Crabs can drop 0-1 Gold Shard, so a kill is a chance rather than a guaranteed unit.

Method 3

GatheringObsidiron Crystals

• Meteor-workshop progression can expose another crystal source alongside Obsidiron materials.

Tip 1

Set a target of three for Axe Trim or five for Armor Trim and Obsidiron Chest; stopping between those thresholds does not complete a Gold-Shard recipe.

Tip 2

Prioritize guaranteed red chunks before relying on Meteor Crab drops, because a crab can provide no Gold Shard.

Tip 3

Keep Gold and Meteor Shards together in the same planned inventory route so one scarce material is not left at a distant crash site.

Tip 4

Do not save Gold Shards for Obsidiron Boots; that recipe uses an Obsidiron Ingot instead.
