The Deer is a Extreme Threat entity of the Animal species.The main antagonist of the game, The Deer is an unkillable, bipedal monster that hunts players at night. Its role dynamically changes with game events, recently acting as the primary adversary to the Elves during the Christmas update.

Spawn locations:
- •The ForestAt night, away from campfire

Special interactions:
- •Cannot be damaged by any weapon.
- •Can be temporarily stunned by flashlights, but stun duration decreases with repeated use.
- •Has poor pathfinding and can be easily blocked by trees, structures, or shelves.
- •Is afraid of The Owl and The Ram and will not spawn on the same night.
- •Killing a player triggers a long jumpscare sequence.
Spawn Mechanics
- Spawns at night in The Forest biome.
- It is replaced by The Owl or The Ram in the Snow and Volcanic biomes.
- Completely harmless on Day 1 and remains dormant for the first few nights before becoming active.
- Appears during Cultist Raids to observe.
- The 'Hunger' state (faster, red eyes) has been patched and is currently replaced by glitched appearances of The Ram or The Owl.
Lore & Background
- Its appearance is a semi-humanoid deer with a large head, outstretched jaw, and large claws. It is a facultative biped, running on all fours to move faster.
- During the Christmas event, it may be seen with Christmas lights tangled in its antlers.
- It is the entity responsible for kidnapping the four Missing Children.
- Worshipped by the Cultists, who are sometimes seen in nocturnal scenes with it.
- In the Christmas Part 2 update, it actively sabotages the Elves' efforts to build Santa's Workshop at the North Pole.
- Its lore has evolved through limited-time events, where it could temporarily become an ally if healed ('The Deer is HURT' event) or fed ('Thanksgiving' event).
Quick Actions
Survival Tips
• Use a flashlight to stun it and create distance to escape.
• Lure it into trees or buildings to block its path.
• Use high ground like Watchtowers, Treehouses, or even shelves to become unreachable.
• A Teleporter is a guaranteed way to escape back to the campfire.
• During the Christmas event, a Snowman can be used to slow it down while you are helping the Elves at the North Pole.
• If the campfire is extinguished, it will spawn immediately; use Lightning Rods or tall structures to survive.
