Steak is a Food item in the Meat subcategory. This item can be obtained through drop. It has cooking, recipes and other uses mechanics and hunger raw, hunger cooked and effect raw abilities. You can read about four usage tips and discover two interesting facts and trivia about this item.

Description

Steak is a common animal drop that is useful as food, a taming ingredient, Crock Pot input, Chef recipe component, or Biofuel Processor material. Raw Steak restores less hunger and damages the player, so cooking it is the normal survival choice. Its broad drop pool makes it easier to replace than Ribs, but spending every Steak on meals can block wolf, fox, or alpha-wolf taming routes later in the run.

Usage Tips4 tips

Tip 1

Cook Steak before eating unless immediate starvation is more dangerous than the raw-food damage.

Tip 2

Reserve a small stack when carrying a Taming Flute; taming needs exact requested foods and cooked Steak may not substitute for raw Steak.

Tip 3

Use abundant Steak for ordinary Stew, but save rarer Ribs for recipes that specifically benefit from Ribs.

Tip 4

A Chef should turn spare Steak plus two ordinary food items into Steak Dinner when the larger hunger refill is more valuable than three separate ingredients.

Trivia2 facts

Fact 1

Steak is non-vegetarian, so consuming it invalidates a vegetarian run.

Fact 2

It sits between Morsel and Ribs as a practical meat: common enough for routine use, but still relevant to advanced recipes and taming.
