Corn is a Food item in the Crop subcategory. This item can be obtained through farming. It has cooking, taming and comparison mechanics and hunger abilities. You can read about four usage tips and discover two interesting facts and trivia about this item.

Description

Corn is an uncommon Farm Plot crop that restores two hunger units when eaten. Corn is more valuable as a planned utility food than as emergency ground loot: it can feed the player, enter a Crock Pot recipe, and satisfy animal-taming requests when the current prompt asks for it. Because it only comes from farming, using every cob immediately can stall a later recipe or tame.

FarmingFarm Plots
Plant Farm Plots at the Campfire and wait for the uncommon Corn crop. It is not a dependable map pickup, so multiple plots improve the chance of having one when a recipe or tame needs it.

Usage Tips4 tips

Tip 1

Keep at least one Corn in the Sack when planning to tame animals; a crop cannot be replaced instantly if the next Farm Plot roll is different.

Tip 2

For routine hunger, eat easier renewable food first and reserve Corn for Crock Pot recipes or a specific taming request.

Tip 3

Build Farm Plots early enough that crops mature before a long rescue or biome route. Waiting until the food is required creates an avoidable delay.

Tip 4

Do not confuse Corn with Candy Corn or Corn on the Cob; those are separate items with different sources and uses.

Trivia2 facts

Fact 1

Corn is one of the uncommon crops produced by Farm Plots.

Fact 2

Its two-hunger value puts it above basic one-hunger plants while still leaving four-hunger foods as the stronger direct meal.
